Denise Barth, M.Ed.

Educational Consultant

Denise Barth is an Independent Educational Consultant living in Columbia, South Carolina. Denise graduated from the University of South Carolina with a B.S. in Elementary Education and an M. Ed. in Educational Administration. Her certifications and endorsements include elementary and middle school education, gifted and talented education, and elementary and secondary principal.  She taught for thirteen years and was an administrator for twenty-three years, seventeen of those as school principal.

Every child has gifts and strengths. A great education helps a child discover and develop these gifts and strengths to be successful in school and life.

Denise remembers almost nothing of her childhood school years, ANY of them. An occasional random memory or success can be shared, but they are few and are always marked by a caring relationship with an exceptional teacher. Despite the fact she was “successful,” by grades and graduation standards, she would argue she fell through the cracks.  Her missing “school life” has been the driving force behind her entire career.

Denise’s passion to create innovative instructional programs resulted in powerful school experiences and successes for the children in her classrooms and schools. Her 36-year career in public education included four middle schools, seven elementary schools, and two intermediate schools, in two stellar South Carolina midlands school districts. Known for student advocacy, her campuses housed magnet programs, special needs programs, and were nationally awarded professional development schools for new teacher training.

Denise was named 2017 South Carolina Elementary School Principal of the Year by South Carolina School Administrators Association (SCASA) and a 2017 National Distinguished Principal by National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP.)  She has presented at district, state and national conferences.  Her areas of expertise include staff development, curriculum design across content areas, technology integration, project-based learning, movement in the classroom, building positive school culture, and leadership development.

With this, Denise brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to helping and supporting those in need at The Price Group!  She looks forward to partnering with you soon!

Denise has a son, a step-daughter, and a grand-daughter. She is an active member of the Spring Valley Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. She loves gardening and crafting and escapes to her childhood home at Isle of Palms whenever possible to enjoy photographing sunrises, reflective writing, and beach-walking.
